International Private Client Forum:
The Opportunities of Disruption

Save the date for Legal Week's 15th International Private Client Forum taking place on 2-4 November 2017 at the stunning Villa d'Este on Lake Como, Italy.

The Forum unites the most senior international private client lawyers to debate key global issues that affect clients and their families.

We are proud to welcome back RBC Wealth Management as our principal sponsor. Together with the dedication of our co-chairs, advisory board and speakers, this year is set to be the most fascinating yet as we examine the impact of "disruption" on our clients and our profession. Basil Zirinis of Sullivan & Cromwell will be joined by Clare Maurice of Maurice Turnor Gardner in the chairing seat to lead the Forum.

What do we mean by "disruption"? It is a term much in vogue, applied to business strategies, economic theory, politics, negotiation, even warfare. It can lead to transformational successes, but by its nature is also a force of instability and destruction. We will discuss and debate the meaning of the term, its relevance to our clients and their advisors, how disruption can be positively utilised and how we can defend against its damaging character.

As planners we strive to advise and structure for the long term, and clients seek certainty paired with long term flexibility. Disruption destabilises even the short term and can render the long term meaningless. How can we anticipate disruption, rather than merely respond to it, and perhaps turn it to our advantage?

We look forward to welcoming you in November.
